moving to Crane & Fox!

Hey guys!

Three Blind Mice Designs will be officially closed on the 30th of December 2011. We will be moving to Crane & Fox on the 1st of January 2012! Actually, you can view the site now, it's already online. :-)
Of course, this blog will still be around for a few months, to redirect people to the new site.

Crane & Fox is a mix of everything! But mainly, I have stocked up on paper goods, and jewelry. I'm still selling my cards, but I'll also be selling jewelry from our sister site, Little Madeleines (which has been shut down too), and (this is the most exciting part!) Letterpress Prints made by Diane and Madeline at Tag Team Tompkins!

You may notice that my cards are priced higher. It's because recently I've realized that all those materials, costs, time and soul taken to make a card costs a lot higher than what I've estimated. I used estimate that they cost roughly RM 6.00, now after some serious-no-nonsense calculations, I've realized that a card costs me a whole lot more.

So, just to notify you about the move, and I hope that maybe you could check the new site out? It would really mean a lot to me. :)

The Good, and the Bad...

Three Blind Mice has been vacant for some time now, and I honestly don't know if anyone will be reading this post since there had been no updates from April till now.

But after two years and a half, I will finally be shutting this humble blogshop down.....

.... to make way for the NEW one! :D

The new website (yet another blogshop...) will include my handmade cards and much more! And I assure you, I will strive to create the new blogshop with 40 different cards each month until you grow bored of them or my hands drop off, which ever comes first.

I have even liaison-ed (ooh, what a sexy word that is!) with some oh-so talented people around the world to bring their amazing and super delightful works to Malaysia. Well, actually the technical word is wholesale, and liaison doesn't really hit the mark very well, but I'm still going to use it.

And you'll be seeing some of my other creations too! You know, the sort of things besides cards and paper... and hopefully I will surprise you. ;)

And when will this spanking new blogshop commence business? January 2012! :D

You will be hearing more of it in December, after I have settled everything! In the mean time, stay tuned!

Hey there,

recently, Three Blind Mice Designs was featured on TV 3. It was a bit embarrassing and exciting at the same time, and it felt extremely weird to see myself on televison!

Temporarily Offline

Hello everyone,

It has been a really busy year last year and a very rewarding one too. Sad to say, I will be temporarily closing down Three Blind Mice Designs from March till end of December, as I'm won't be able to put aside some time to create cards this year. Production will stop this March, and I won't be accepting custom orders anymore.

I'd like to say a huge "Thanks" to my friends and family for supporting me throughout the entire year! And also to my faithful customers (some of which have become friends). Without you guys, there wouldn't be the mice! :)

I'll really miss the paper and buttons, but I'll be reopening Three Blind Mice Designs next year, January. And by then, I'll be revamping the website and everything else! It'll be so awesome, you might not even recognize the site! :)

**The idea for this card was given by a visitor. She proposed that I do Wedding Invitations, but seeing that I’ve got my hands full currently, for now, this will just have to do. : )

It’s a tad larger than our usual cards, and the bicycle is made of high quality heavy chipboard. The alphabets are made of typography stickers and we’ve highlighted the bicycle by adding 3D foam stickers to the back of the brown cardstock. It looks flat here, but it’s actually more dimensional than it looks.

When I created this card, I thought of my dad. He comes back late sometimes and just throws his clothes everywhere then jumps into bed and sleeps. In the morning, I have to clean them up and it’s really a chore.

But all the same, I love him. So this card is for all daughters or sons feeling the same way I do. I hate cleaning the clothes, but love my dad and his clothes all at the same time. It’s a love/hate relationship (with the clothes). :)

These books are extremely eco-friendly! They’re created from scraps left from other projects, the paper, the cover and even the ribbons! Great to be used as itty-bitty sketchbooks, to write poems in and life-changing ideas. Plenty of blank space for you to doodle. And their tag-like size just makes them more lovable, just stash them in your purse and go anywhere!

The books are hand bound by grey thread and have 40 pages. To make sure they close properly, a brown ribbon is added so you can tie them up (as seen in the first picture). Elegant!

Today, we’ve got this little white plushie, uber adorable! And so fluffy!

Handmade by one of my good friends, this little marshmallow plushie is utterly adorable and so huggable! Her name (yep, it’s a she-marshmallow. Don’t you see those pink cheeks and long eyelashes?) is Minnie.

Minnie is made of pure white felt. Everything on her is felt, except for the long strings that make up her legs and arms. She loves the morning sun, sleeping, cameras, and hugs! But she is rather prone to injury and often trips over her legs. Thus, she constantly has a bandage on her. Someone needs to take care of her!

You will receive a birth certificate along with Minnie upon purchase to prove that she is a real handmade plushie.

I've just finished a set of stationary to be put on sale. I know these aren't cards, but I thought they would be very useful to anyone (not to mention adorably vintage) and they fall into the 'almost cards' category!

This set contains :

4 Vintage Envelopes - Standard Size (12cm x 16 cm)

4 blank note cards

1 Miniature Recycled Notebook

Buy it as a present for a friend or keep it for yourself! The envelopes are handmade from pages of a vintage Grimm's Fairy Tales book ). They are very thick and are of high quality.

As for the notebook, I actually bought it from a store and designed the front cover. The pages are made from recycled paper and are a little thinner than usual paper. Everyone needs somewhere to jot down random stuff!

The note cards are not greeting cards, but just blank notes. You can use them to write on and post along with the envelopes or use them to leave notes around the house.

“Camy” Card

Bon soir people!

Well, it means good evening in french… I’ve been going for french lessons these past few days and I’ve learned a few things. Hee!

Anyway, here’s another card for a friend. I think it’s nice that people are giving away cards the traditional way. It really gets the message across. :D

I’ve added some scallops around the side and also tied a red polka dot ribbon, as you can see. I bought the ribbon a few weeks ago and was so eager to try it out! :)

The card reads : Camy my friend

Usually, I use contrasting colours for my cards, but I decided to try something different. Sadly, that habit couldn’t stay out from this design… see the black background? Pfft.

An white piece of paper is inserted for messages and it comes with a white envelope. You can change the colour if you want to, though.

I think it’s just so perfect for the recipient, Elaine! She loves pink and I tried my best to insert as much pink as possible. Gotta love the pink bow too! And the buttons! Ooh!

“Sis” Card

Hello,

My mom asked me to make one for my aunt on her behalf and I decided to make this card. Lots of flowers, buttons and a little bit of vellum.

I got the idea for this card from a fellow card crafter and it’s actually quite easy to assemble. I drew the stalks with some marker and glued down the buttons.

A piece of white paper is attached to the inside of it. And it comes with a white envelope.

“Happy Birthday, Bii” Card

Good evening folks!

Another custom-made card for a customer. It’s for a guy, so more blue and dark colors are in the card. Well, except for the heart… so, enjoy and I hope you like it!

It’s a transparent card with round black cardstock for a border and also to accentuate the whole design. Because her friend happened to like blue a lot, she asked me to try to add it into the card’s design. I even added the little rhinestone that I was saving for something (whatever that something was…) : )

Olla!

Just finished making 7 thank you cards for a customer, will mail them tomorrow and pray that they reach her in time!

She ordered them for her teachers and I almost finished all of my sticker ‘A’s and ‘T's making those cards. Ha-ha, got to get some more now!

Anyway, here are the cards. And no, they are not a pack and are not for sale.

Basically, they’re just modified remakes of the previous cards. Love the pumpkin! I think the words really go well with it!

“XMAS” Card

Good morning!

I’m writing this around 10.30 a.m. and the morning breeze is just everywhere in my home.. nice. Okay, back to the card. Today’s card is an upgrade from my previous cards because it has paper designs on it. So, enjoy.

This card has a more vintage look to it because of the paper design on it. There is also a stitching design around it. The transparent paper is wrapped around the card to avoid leaving ugly marks on the cover of the card. I stuck glittery words on it and also a red button with twine.

Just perfect for anyone at all this Christmas time of the year! Conventional but with a little twist of unique.

Hello everyone,

I’ve just completed an order for a customer and I’m sending them tomorrow. Hopefully she’ll like them! This is one of the cards she has custom ordered. Enjoy.

As you can see, this card is a little special because the caption is not on the cover. Instead, it is behind it. I’ve used a piece of nice metallic gold card stock to create this card and some pink stickers too. Classy with a hint of whimsical.

Good afternoon,

I’ve just finished a card custom ordered by a relative and just thought I’d post it today.

While I was making this card, I just felt that the whole thing was wrong and weird. But then, it turned out to be ok! What a huge relief! Anyway, I think this card is just right. :) With nice sewing designs on it and a huge flower with a button.

Hi guys!

Today's card is just perfect for to wish anyone happy birthday! Hmm... scrap that sentence. It should be anyone with a sense of humor. Anyway, this card was ordered by one of my customers. So... enjoy!

This card has a pink ribbon with white stitching (my favourite!) and I added more stitching around the card and hearts. The words " U R" has been glittered with copper glitter and though you can't see it in the computer, yeah... it's there.

I wouldn't recommend giving this card to a teacher or boss or anyone who can fire or send you to the principal's office. It's more for a friend or your girlfriend / boyfriend... anyone you've know for a long time.

"Thinking of you on this special day" Card (SOLD)

Bonjour everyone!

This morning, I created another card with a dark base, which is the only color I have left (besides grey). I'm running out of paper and I'd better start shopping for more!

Anyway, I hope you like the card!

The design is simple and clean. For myself, I like the pink string and button. And also, the pink string is not glued down. Instead, I've tied the string around the card and you'll find I've made a knot inside the card. But don't worry, it's definitely not an eye-sore. Two of the corners are rounded to create a smoother effect on the card.

You can give this card away to anyone on any sort of occasion, since the caption doesn't really keep you stuck to a certain occasion. Maybe you could give it to a friend on a birthday, a boyfriend / girlfriend on Valentine's day or to your mom / dad on their anniversary. Because the card has a dark base, I've attached a piece of white paper inside.

This is a custom made card for one of my customers. She wanted a special card for her dearest husband and so, to make the card a little more masculine, I decided to use blue and black. Enjoy!

Secret Garden Twin Set - Clear Cards (SOLD)

Good evening folks!

I've just created 2 cards, which I've made into a twin pack. And it's called the Secret Garden Twin Set! Well, no secret-y designs, but I just love the name! But even more exciting is that the cards are transparent! :)

It's called the Secret Garden because of the flower designs on them and also because of the muted base colors.

The green card has a " it's your b'day " caption, with four flowers of two colors in a corner and flowing stitching designs. The word " b'day " is made up of glittery copper stickers and the words " it's your " are written on a piece of light brown scroll which has foam backing to make it pop up.

The second card, which has the " u & me " caption is cream in color and has a strip of orange just beneath. Two flowers are randomly placed on the card too. The words " u , me " are formed using pink card stock stickers. The orange strip also has white stitching designs on it.

If you're looking to buy cards no one will forget, these babies are just the ones. Flirty, feminine and flowers. They are just the perfect cards for girls!

"Tis The Season" Card

Good afternoon everyone!

I've just remembered Christmas is just round the corner and decided to make a card to kick start my Christmas-Card-Making Project. Nothing to fancy for this card. Simple, neat and nice.

The base of the card is a piece of metallic brown card stock. Various shades of green are used to match the brown base. Bordering the card are white stitches. And lastly, little red buttons are added to embellish and add a little festive-ness to the card.

Add a phrase or two inside the card, and anyone would just fall in love with this card! Have a green, white and brown Christmas! HoHoHo! Yes, I know, Christmas isn't here yet...

Because of it's versatility, if you want this card to be a little bit more personal, I could customize it a little and add some words or a name onto the front of the card.

Unless you tell me what to write, no messages will be written onto the card.

"Hey PUMPKIN" Card (SOLD)

Hi everbody,

This is a quick card I made yesterday morning. Hope you like it as much as I do!

The card is, as you can see, round. I pasted the pumpkin onto a piece of white round card, so that it has more dimension. Each piece of the pumpkin in also layered onto the orange base and it has light green sewing designs on it. The word "PUMPKIN" is written using purple ink onto a piece of white scroll, which has the same sewing designs too.

Just the card to send if you know someone as cute as a pumpkin! I don't really like to eat pumpkin, but I could just eat this cute card up! It's special and unique and where would you find a pumpkin card? ;)
